Dusty now has a job as a Panda DJ, becomes wealthy through his work, has moved in across the street in a castle he built there, and he and Brad are now friends. One night, Dusty Mayron, Sara's ex and the kids' biological father, calls discovering Sara's married to Brad, and announces he will be visiting the next day. She hesitates to let him into their home, but Brad convinces her it is important for the kids to see their father and stepfather establish a respectful relationship.

Mark Wahlberg may not have delivered withTransformers, but he came in swinging for the comedy sequel and proved yet again that star power can only do so much for $200 million+ tentpoles. There is little reason not to expect a relatively healthy run for the poorly-reviewed but clearly embraced comedy sequel. The film pulled an impressive 2.7x weekend multiplier, which is doubly impressive when you consider that Friday was a holiday.

When the family is arriving at the holiday house, you see Karen walk through the front entrance twice. As Brad's mother arrives, Dusty and Brad discover Brad's new stepfather is Sully Sullenberger, pilot of the 2009 "Miracle on the Hudson" flight. They remember watching the film Sully together recently, and Dusty appears to be happy to see him. Brad seems willing to accept him, but instead runs down the terminal, screaming that Sully will never replace his father and "You only have one good story, my father has a million".

However, Dusty finally decides to follow Brad's lead on being a father, and instead quells the fight by starting a dance-off. Brad and Sara reconcile, and Dusty decides to stay and be a good "co-dad" to his kids. Dusty, meanwhile, is overwhelmed by the responsibilities of being a full-time father. When Dusty decides to call it quits and leave on the day of Megan's father-daughter dance, his friend Griff convinces Brad to fight for his family. Dusty admits that he cannot handle the hard parts about being a father, and admires Brad for putting up with everything.

A drunken Megan begins to swear, and an equally drunk Adrianna falls from her platform, then the crowd breaks up. Instead of Dusty fighting Brad, he almost fights Roger, and Don is repeatedly hit in the face with ice-balls. There, Kurt tries to convince Dylan to ask Santa for a shotgun, but Don talks him out of it. Megan, however, wants one instead and is granted permission after Kurt makes a sexist comment.
